Plywood end table

Found plywood  Michelle and I grabbed some scrap wood from work – a lot of good plywood.  They were mostly odd shapes being cut-offs, but there was a decent amount of various lengths.

I’ve seen some plywood edge projects and have liked the look of the plys all lined up, so decided to redo our $15 end table in our livingroom.

The first thing I did was rip the plywood into long strips about 2″ wide.  This would become the final width of the table top and legs.

Cut strips

After gluing the strips together, I planed the surfaces and sanded them.  A lot of sanding.

I may go back and fill in some of the gaps within the plys and add another few coats of poly, but for now, that is enough sanding.

Not as cool as a Thundercat symbol, but hey, she’s only three 🙂

I made a wall plaque for the boy’s room.  I’m supposed to re-live my childhood through my kids, right?

New bench

A few years ago we bought a couple of cedar  2×6 deck boards at the end of summer.  I made this small foot bench out of one.  Our kitchen now smells like a pencil!
